What is "The Analyst's Accounting Observer"?
The Analyst's Accounting Observer is a research service published by R.G. Associates, Inc. that, simply put, provides "remedial accounting" for institutional investors and security analysts who should know better.
The written reports are essentially a discussion and analysis of current financial accounting topics, replete with examples and explained in a way that makes sense to financial analysts. Coupled with consultation provided by the author, Jack Ciesielski, it's a very efficient way for institutional investors and research departments to keep sharp on accounting issues in financial statements - one of the most important building blocks of investment decisions.
Is it a good place to look for stocks to short?
Not at all. It's not a good place to look for stocks to go long, either.
The service focuses on reporting issues or themes. The basic premise of the service is to provoke thought - not to point out "buys" and "sells".
The Observer is independent accounting analysis, pure and simple. It exists only to make analysts smarter about financial statements.
Who writes it?
Jack Ciesielski, CPA, CFA is the publisher.
